STEWARDSHIP COMMITMENT SUNDAY

This year’s Christ Cathedral Parish Stewardship Renewal has reaffirmed that as followers of Jesus we are to clothe our hearts with generous love. We have seen that living the mission of Jesus in the world calls us to live in the world with accountability to God and each other for all that has been entrusted to us. Finally, we have been reminded that the stewardship way of life is an invitation to make a difference in the world. As disciples of Jesus and good stewards, we are to leave the world a better place because we were here.

Following Jesus, living the mission and making a difference happens through the life and ministry of our parish. Every Sunday we stand up to the negativity and cynicism of the world by gathering to celebrate Mass. Strengthened by the presence of the Lord in the Scriptures and Eucharist, moved by the beauty of ritual and music and reassured by each other’s presence, we are sent back into the world with new hope.

From birth to death, we are educated and formed in the ways of our Catholic faith. In our parish, adults are initiated into the Church, our children are baptized, receive First Communion and are confirmed in the Holy Spirit. Couples are joined in Holy Matrimony, our sins are forgiven, the infirm are strengthened and our beloved deceased are given their final farewell as they enter eternal life. Those in need get relief through our community outreach. All of us are stronger because we are part of a visible community of faith.

Your financial support of Christ Cathedral Parish helps all of this and more to happen. Know that whatever portion of your financial resources you pledge to share during this coming year is very much appreciated. The world has been and will continue to be made new because together we follow Jesus, live his mission and truly desire to make a difference.
